|Saint Kitts and Nevis Supports Political Solution Within the Framework of Morocco's Sovereignty and Territorial Integrity (Committee of 24)

Before the United Nations Committee of 24, Saint Kitts and Nevis called for a settlement of the regional dispute over the Moroccan Sahara within the framework of the Kingdom's national sovereignty and territorial integrity.

In an intervention during the regular session of the Committee of 24, held in New York until June 20, the Permanent Representative of Saint Kitts and Nevis emphasized that her country "supports the settlement of this regional dispute within the framework of the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Morocco."

She also expressed Saint Kitts and Nevis's support for the UN-led political process aimed at achieving a just and lasting solution to this regional dispute, highlighting the validity of the Moroccan autonomy initiative as "the only credible, serious, and realistic solution" to this artificial conflict.

The diplomat also commended Morocco's tireless efforts to achieve socio-economic development in its southern provinces, through investments made within the framework of the new development model launched in 2015.

The speaker also addressed the efforts of the UN Secretary-General and his Personal Envoy for the Moroccan Sahara to lead the UN political process toward a realistic, practical, sustainable, and consensus-based political solution, as recommended by the Security Council.
