This stance was expressed in the Joint Communiqué adopted on Monday in Rabat, following the meeting between minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, with minister of African Integration, Foreign Affairs and Senegalese Abroad Cheikh Niang, currently on a friendship and working visit to the Kingdom.
After reiterating the unwavering and firm support of Senegal to the Kingdom of Morocco’s territorial integrity and sovereignty over its entire national territory, including the Sahara region, the head of Senegalese diplomacy also renewed the full support of his country’s government to the autonomy plan under Moroccan sovereignty, presented by Morocco, as the only credible, serious and realistic solution to resolving this regional conflict.
Welcoming this stance, Bourita thanked the Senegalese side for the firm and steadfast support for Morocco's territorial integrity and sovereignty over its entire territory, including the Sahara region, reflecting a thorough understanding of the origins and developments of this issue and its repercussions on stability and regional integration, the Joint Communiqué emphasizes.
He also welcomed Senegal's opening of a Consulate General in the city of Dakhla on April 5, 2021.
