|Gulf Summit in Manama Expressed Clear Support for Territorial Integrity of the Kingdom — Moroccan Ambassador to Saudi Arabia

His Majesty’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Mustafa Mansouri, praised the clear positions in support of the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Morocco, as expressed in the final communiqué of the 46th Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit, held on Wednesday in Manama.

In a statement to the Maghreb Arab Press Agency (MAP), Mr. Mansouri noted the GCC Supreme Council’s reaffirmation of its support for the Moroccan Sahara and its endorsement of the autonomy initiative as a final and realistic solution to this artificial regional dispute. He also highlighted the Council’s welcome of UN Security Council Resolution 2797, adopted on October 31, 2025.

The Moroccan ambassador commended the summit’s final communiqué for praising His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s decision to submit the autonomy initiative to the Security Council and for designating October 31 of each year as a national holiday, “Unity Day,” which reflects His Majesty’s vision for defending the Kingdom’s territorial integrity and strengthening its stability.

The Ambassador affirmed that the positions expressed in the statement reflect the depth of the fraternal ties that bind the Kingdom of Morocco to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states and highlight the strength of the existing strategic partnership, characterized by unwavering trust and solidarity.

He also noted that the Supreme Council’s emphasis on respecting the principles of sovereignty and non-interference in internal affairs, in accordance with international norms and conventions, constitutes a fundamental pillar for strengthening the security, stability, and territorial integrity of the GCC states.

He added that for years, the GCC Supreme Council has dedicated specific paragraphs to the Kingdom of Morocco in its final communiqués, reflecting the distinguished position Morocco holds in the Gulf region and underscoring the strength of the strategic partnership with GCC member states.

Mr. Mansouri reiterated that the Kingdom of Morocco will continue to work diligently, in a spirit of partnership with its sister GCC states, to implement the joint action plan and to develop cooperation in various fields, in a manner that serves the higher interests of the countries and enhances their stability.

The Moroccan ambassador also highlighted that the honorable positions of the GCC sister states regarding the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Morocco come at a time when the issue of the Moroccan Sahara is witnessing increasing international momentum, reflected in the growing number of countries recognizing Moroccan sovereignty over the Sahara and their support for the autonomy initiative as a realistic and credible solution to this fabricated conflict.
