|Sahara is Moroccan By Fact and By Law, Mexican Media Outlet

"The Sahara is Moroccan and cannot be anything other than that" despite the maneuvers by Algeria and the Polisario, writes Mexican media outlet "ViaGlobal".

"The moroccanness of the Sahara is irreversible, despite the maneuvers of Algeria and the Polisario", underlines the electronic portal, quoting the French lawyer Hubert Seillan, author of the "The Moroccan Sahara: Space and time" and "Politics against the Law".

On the dynamics of opening consulates general in Laayoune and Dakhla which started since December 2019, ViaGlobal writes that Algeria was "the only country among the 193 member states of the United Nations to react to the opening of consulates in the Moroccan Sahara, trying to intimidate African states with press releases and recall of ambassador".

Algeria was counting on the UN Security Council to curb this dynamic by trying to put pressure ahead of the briefing by the Council on the question of the Moroccan Sahara on April 9, 2020, it said, recalling that the UN executive body simply ignored the Algerian moves.

In addition, the Mexican website highlighted the colossal efforts made by Morocco to face the pandemic of the new coronavirus, deeming it as an "exemplary management" hailed by several countries, international media oulets and social media.

It noted that the international expert Huber Seillan underlined three key elements which allowed Morocco to face the challenge of the pandemic, namely a "centralization of the decisions taken according to the Royal High Vision", "social cohesion", and a "policy based on mass screenings" and "territory surveillance", which made it possible to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
