Member of the British House of Lords, Stuart Polak, welcomed, on Tuesday, the Israeli government's decision to recognize Morocco's sovereignty over the Sahara, deeming it "the right thing to do".

The recognition by the State of Israel of Morocco's Sovereignty over its Sahara is a "historic and just decision", stressed the leaders (chioukhs) of the Sahrawi tribes in the Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra region.

The president of the Les Républicains party, Eric Ciotti, welcomed on Monday Israel’s recognition of the Moroccanity of the Sahara, calling on France to contribute to the settlement of this “strategic question”.

The decision by the State of Israel to recognize Morocco's sovereignty over its Sahara is an achievement that adds to the victories achieved by Morocco thanks to the wisdom and farsightedness of HM King Mohammed VI, stressed Hamdi Ould Errachid, President of the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra Regional Council, on Monday.

His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, has sent a message to the Prime Minister of the State of Israel, Mr. Benyamin Netanyahu, in which the Sovereign affirms that the State of Israel's "important" decision to recognize the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Morocco over its Sahara and to favorably consider the opening of a Consulate in the city of Dakhla is "both just and far-sighted."
