Djibouti on Monday reaffirmed, in New York, its support for the Moroccan Autonomy Initiative, welcoming the adoption of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2797 on the Moroccan Sahara.

Security Council Resolution 2797 marked a "significant turning point" in the United Nations’ handling of the Moroccan Sahara issue, "moving from a focus on managing the issue to one of resolving it," emphasized Omar Hilale, Morocco’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, on Tuesday in New York.

Before the 4th Committee of the United Nations, Côte d'Ivoire reaffirmed its "full support" for the autonomy plan presented by Morocco, and welcomed the international dynamic in favor of this initiative which aims to achieve a peaceful and definitive solution to the issue of the Moroccan Sahara.

Bahrain reiterated, before the 4th Committee of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, its constant position of support for the sovereignty of Morocco and its territorial integrity, as well as the autonomy plan under Moroccan sovereignty to permanently resolve the issue of the Moroccan Sahara.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia reaffirmed, before the 4th Committee of the United Nations General Assembly, its support for the autonomy initiative under Moroccan sovereignty aimed at putting an end to the regional dispute around the Moroccan Sahara.
