El Salvador expressed, Tuesday in New York, its support to Morocco's efforts to find a realistic, pragmatic and lasting political solution to the Sahara issue, while respecting the territorial integrity and national sovereignty of the Kingdom.

The Chairman of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs (Corcas), Khalihenna Ould Errachid, met on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 with Naser Khader, member of the Foreign Affairs Committee at the Danish Parliament who is on a working visit to Morocco.

Ambassador Omar Hilale, Permanent Representative of Morocco to the UN, told the Security Council that terrorism and separatism are closely linked and undermine the stability and territorial integrity of States.

Guatemala reiterated, in New York, its support to Morocco's efforts to achieve a political solution to the regional dispute over the Sahara, based on the Moroccan autonomy initiative and within the framework of respect for the territorial integrity of the Kingdom and its national sovereignty.

The UN Security Council will hold during the month of October three meetings to discuss the issue of the Moroccan Sahara, with the aim of renewing the mandate of MINURSO and reaffirming support for the efforts of the UN Secretary-General and his Personal Envoy to revive the political process by bringing Algeria, the main party to the regional dispute, to resume the round-table process in accordance with the relevant resolutions, including Resolution 2602.
