Spanish Parliament Confirms Government's Position, Preeminence of Autonomy Plan Spain's Congress of Deputies, the lower house of Parliament, confirmed, Thursday evening, the position of the government of Pedro Sanchez on the Moroccan Sahara issue, thus confirming the broad support for Morocco's autonomy proposal within the Spanish constitutional institutions and the main political formations.

The autonomy plan, presented by Morocco to end the artificial conflict over the Moroccan Sahara, is "realistic, credible and achievable", and is a real lever for development, stressed the former Spanish Minister of Housing, Maria Antonia Trujillo Rincon.

Morocco's autonomy initiative for the Sahara stands out for its generosity, especially in terms of provisions guaranteeing the exercise of legislative powers, said Marc Finaud, senior adviser at the 'Geneva Center for Security Policy' think tank.

The autonomy initiative presented by Morocco for the Sahara offers exclusive legislative powers to the Region, said Professor of Political Science at the University of Barcelona, Joan-Josep Vallbé, noting that the Moroccan plan proposes to establish a list of areas of exclusive competence of both the central government and the region.
