The massive participation of the population of the Moroccan Sahara in the elections of September 8 confirms its attachment to the territorial unity of the Kingdom and its full commitment to the implementation of the new development model in the southern provinces, said Monday, minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita.

The Moroccan ambassador to Chile, Ms. Kenza El Ghali, has strongly condemned the abject situation that prevails in the Tindouf camps, where populations held against their will live "without dignity under the yoke of the militias of the Polisario and the Algerian army”.

The NGO African Forum for Research and Studies on Human Rights (AFORES) warned in Geneva against the activities of polisario members who are recruited by armed groups and jihadists as mercenaries operating in the Sahel-Saharan region.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans abroad, Nasser Bourita, reiterated the Kingdom's unwavering commitment to regional peace, Friday at a ministerial conference organized by the U.S. Department of State to commemorate the first anniversary of the Abraham Accords.

Morocco's permanent representative in Geneva, ambassador Omar Zniber, questioned on Thursday the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) on the full responsibility of the Algerian regime in the persistence of the ordeal endured by the population held against its will in the Tindouf camps.
