Kenya has much to gain by moving economically closer to Morocco and has more to lose by aligning itself with Algeria-backed separatist theses, writes Kenyan magazine "The Nairobian" in its latest issue.

It is high time that France and the European Union (EU) support Morocco in its position concerning the Sahara, underlined, on Monday, Claude Kern, Senator of Bas-Rhin, vice-president of the European Affairs Commission at the French Senate.

A rally in solidarity with population held captive in the Tindouf camps in Algeria was organized in Paris on Saturday, at the initiative of a group of associations of Moroccans from Europe.

Kenya's vice-president William Ruto has said that the autonomy plan under Moroccan sovereignty in the southern provinces "is the best solution to the Sahara issue".
