The Moroccan Ambassador to South Africa, Youssef Amrani, shed light on Tuesday on the transgressions which keep the populations held against their will in the Tindouf camps in increasingly severe humanitarian situation.

In a report to the United Nations General Assembly, covering the period from 2011 to 2020, the United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, highlighted the examining of the Moroccan Sahara issue by the Security Council, as a regional dispute, under Chapter VI of the United Nations Charter, relating to the peaceful settlement of disputes.

The relevance of the Moroccan Autonomy Initiative as a realistic solution to the Moroccan Sahara issue has been highlighted by the president of the Latin American Center for Democracy Studies, Antonio Yelpi Aguilar, who underlined that this proposal is the only lasting solution to this artificial conflict.

The embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Pretoria announced, Thursday, the launch of a communication campaign entitled "between myth and reality: understanding the regional dispute created over the Moroccan Sahara".

Suriname reiterated on Monday its position expressed in March 2016 on the withdrawal of recognition of the fake "SADR", saying it is in favor of Morocco's commitment to a peaceful and consensual political solution, under the sovereignty of the Kingdom and its territorial integrity.
