The Haitian Minister of Foreign Affairs Bocchit Edmond, welcomed on Tuesday in Marrakech, the Moroccan initiative of autonomy for the Sahara, and reaffirmed the respect of his country to the territorial integrity of Morocco and its sovereignty on its Saharan provinces.

The participation of the elected representatives of the southern provinces in the Geneva round table on the regional dispute over the Moroccan Sahara consecrates their status as legitimate spokespersons of the Saharawi population concerned by this artificial conflict, said the president of the region of Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra, Sidi Hamdi Ould Errachid.
