The chairman of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs, Mr. Khalihenna Ould Errachid held on Monday in Rabat, talks with a delegation from the National Institute for Political and Strategic Studies in the Federal Republic of Nigeria, during which he briefed on the latest developments in the Sahara, especially the Moroccan plan to grant enlarged autonomy to the southern regions.

The President of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs (CORCAS), Mr. Ould Errachid Khalihenna, met Friday in Rabat, with Mr. Philippe Moureaux, Minister of Federal State, Vice-President of the Belgian Socialist Party and Mayor of the municipality of Molenbeek, who is paying a working visit to the Kingdom.

The Parliamentary Morocco-Italian Friendship Group, "Friends of Morocco", said Thursday it positively welcomed the Moroccan initiative to negotiate an autonomy statute for the Sahara. 

A group of young Sahrawis, having recently benefited from family visit exchange, decided to settle permanently in the province of Essmara.

The Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs continued and ended late in the evening of Thursday to Friday, the works of its first regular session for 2009.
