The start of this sporting event was given by the Secretary General of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab Province, Moulay Ismail Heikal, in the presence of the President of the Oued Eddahab Regional Council, Mohamed Salem Hamiya, and civil and military figures.
On this occasion, the President of the Dakhla Gulf Association for the Development of Sports and Culture, Ms. Leila Ouachi, confirmed that this tournament once again establishes the radiance of the city of Dakhla as a primary destination for kitesurfing and wing foiling, which are considered Olympic sports.
She explained, in a statement to the Maghreb Arab Press Agency, that the participation of more than 70 internationally known practitioners from different countries reflects the attractiveness that the city of Dakhla has acquired thanks to its cultural and tourism qualifications.
The 13th session of the Kite Surf World Championship - Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan 2023 (September 22 - October 2) will feature the participation of 39 athletes (26 male and 13 female athletes) who will compete in the kite surfing competition without leg supports (Kite Surf Stribles). (26 male and 10 female athletes) participated in the second session of the World Wing Foil Championship.
