|Twinning Agreement Between Council of Dakhla-Oued Eddahab Regional Government of “Pura” in Peru
Tuesday, in Dakhla, a twinning agreement was signed between the Regional Council of Dakhla-Oued Eddahab and the regional government of “Pura” (Peru), with the aim of strengthening bilateral cooperation relations in a number of areas of common interest.
This agreement, which falls within the framework of decentralized cooperation between Morocco and Peru, was initialed by the President of the Council of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, Khattat Yenga, and the Governor of the Piura region, Luis Neira León, in the presence of the parliamentarian and member of the Peruvian Congress, Eduardo Castillo, A number of elected officials and heads of foreign departments.
According to the two sides, this agreement opens promising horizons for establishing lasting cooperation relations and enhancing aspects of partnership and exchange in various sectors, including the economy, tourism, culture, scientific research and the environment.
The Moroccan and Peruvian parties also agreed to form a working committee in order to precisely define areas of joint work.
This agreement embodies the desire of both sides to establish mutual relations based on friendship and cooperation, enhance understanding between the two friendly peoples, consolidate means of dialogue and strengthen the foundations of decentralized cooperation in areas of common interest between the two countries.
Under this agreement, the two parties are committed to establishing a work program aimed at promoting sustainable development, promoting economic development, technological and industrial innovation between the two sides, supporting business development opportunities in areas related to trade and tourism, and promoting cultural, artistic and educational exchanges to highlight their historical, artistic and cultural components.
This agreement, on the other hand, aims to consolidate the foundations of technical and scientific cooperation between research institutions, companies, universities and schools, and to support training and technology transfer by encouraging communication and developing relations between institutes and technological education centres.
This twinning agreement also aims to enhance cooperation between the two sides in the field of management and safety between Bir Gandouz/Guerguerat (Dakhla-Oued Eddahab) and Lancones/Almor (Piura).
The visit of the Peruvian delegation, which falls within the framework of parallel diplomacy and the consolidation of relations between Morocco and Peru, represented an opportunity to review the most important structured projects in the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, as well as the development momentum and progress that the region is experiencing at all levels.
On this occasion, members of the Peruvian delegation undertook a field tour that included the media library in Dakhla, the port of Dakhla, and an industrial unit for valuing small pelagic fish.
