Morocco voiced, on Wednesday, satisfaction with the adoption by the Fourth Committee of the UN General Assembly of a resolution on the Moroccan Sahara which, by refraining once again from mentioning classical referendum with extreme options, excludes dogmatic approaches some parties continue attempting to revive.

The chairman of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs (CORCAS), Mr. Khalihenna Ould Errachid denounced on Monday in Rabat, the recent visit by some people in the Lahmada camps in Tindouf. 

The Moroccan autonomy initiative is supported by all Sahrawis, said Thursday night in New York, Mr. Ahmed Mghizlat member of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs (CORCAS).

The most important element that was decisive in my return to my homeland, since Algeria created the Sahara artificial dispute, was the generous proposal put forward by HM King Mohammed VI to grant broad autonomy to Morocco's southern provinces", a founding member of the separatist movement of Polisario, said on Wednesday in New York.

The situation of populations retained in the Polisario camps in Tindouf has brought about many interventions during the debates in the 4th commission of the UN General Assembly. These interventions varied between those which demand the opening of inquiry on the plight of human rights and Polisario's actions in this regard, those which demand the liberation of the people, and those that require the application of UNHCR's statutory obligations for the benefit of the sequestered in Tindouf.
