Morocco reaffirms its full readiness to pursue cooperation with the UN Secretary General and his personal envoy to reach a realistic and innovative solution to the Sahara issue, on the basis of the Moroccan autonomy initiative, Foreign Minister Taib Fassi Fihri said on Tuesday.

Morocco, boosted by total adherence of the population of the Sahara, renews its commitment to the negotiation process as well as its support for the efforts made by the UN Secretary General and his Personal Envoy for the Sahara, Christopher Ross, deputy chairman of Morocco's Royal Consultative Council on Saharan Affairs (CORCAS) said.

There are promising prospects for Morocco's Sahara autonomy initiative and the UN Security Council members are very confident that this serious project constitutes a definitive and realistic political solution to this artificial conflict, Prime Minister Abbas El Fassi said.
