Jordan has reiterated its support its support to the Morocco’s territorial integrity autonomy initiative proposed by His Majesty King Mohammed VI for a final political settlement of the Sahara issue.  

The United States voiced hope that the Algerian-backed separatist movement, Polisario, will engage in discussions on the basis of the Moroccan proposal to grant substantial autonomy to the former Spanish colony, the Sahara, describing it as a realistic starting point likely to lead to a solution to this conflict.

The Chairman of the Royal Council for Sahara Affairs (CORCAS), Khalihenna Ould Errachid said, here Wednesday, that the Algerian-backed Polisario separatists have only two choices: to accept Morocco's autonomy proposal for the Sahara, or to stay in the Tindouf camps, southwestern Algeria.

Algeria and Polisario are called to show good faith and seriousness required for the success of the third round of negotiations on the Sahara, said the Chairman of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs (CORCAS), Mr. Khalihenna Ould Errachid.

The Moroccan delegation, which will take part in the third round of negotiations of the UN-led talks, expressed its determination to engage in "good faith" in "substantial" and "serious" negotiations, said a communiqué of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Ministry.
