The Pacific Alliance Monitoring Inter-Parliamentary Commission affirmed, Thursday in Rabat, its support for the autonomy initiative of the southern provinces of the Kingdom in order to find a solution to the dispute over the Moroccan Sahara.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates Nasser Bourita stressed, Tuesday in Rabat, the dynamism of the Moroccan Sahara issue, whose "solution can only be conceived within the framework of the United Nations and on the basis of the Moroccan autonomy plan."

Austria considers the autonomy plan, presented by Morocco in 2007, as a basis for a solution to the dispute over the Moroccan Sahara, agreed upon by all the parties, according to the joint declaration adopted at the end of the meeting, Tuesday in Rabat, between the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, and the Federal Chancellor of Austria, Karl Nehammer.

Justice Minister Abdellatif Ouahbi, who chairs the Moroccan delegation to the 52nd session of the Human Rights Council (HRC), stressed, Monday in Geneva, the overall development of the Kingdom's southern provinces, in contrast with the suffering of the population held against its will in the Tindouf camps in Algeria.
