The chairman of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs (CORCAS), received at the Council headquarters in Rabat on Wednesday, a French parliamentary delegation.

 Morocco presented several concrete ideas to accelerate the pace of the UN-backed negotiations on the Sahara and has reaffirmed its willingness to find a political solution to the regional dispute on the basis of the autonomy plan, Foreign Minister Taib Fassi Fihri underlined on Sunday at the end of the fifth round of UN-backed informal talks, held on January 21-23 in Manhasset (New York).

Mr. Khalihenna Ould Errachid, chairman of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs (CORCAS), met at the Council headquarters in Rabat on Wednesday, with a parliamentary delegation from Cameroon, led by Mr Cavaye Yeguie Djibril, speaker of Cameroon’s National Assembly.

The Australian newspaper “The Australian” reckons that Morocco is the most important country in North Africa, with which Australia should improve its political and economic ties. The article adds that Morocco is facing a separatist movement which is supported by Algeria and is equally involved with the well known terrorist movement Al- Qaeda. Knowing that Morocco is one of the main countries directly involved with the western world in terms of fighting against terrorism.
