For the 3rd consecutive year, the UN asks Algeria to allow census in Tindouf camps

The U.N. Security Council held on Tuesday consultations on the Sahara issue following the report publication by the UN Secretary General.

Ban Ki-moon calls on Algeria to allow identification of people in the Tindouf camps

 The UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon reiterated his call on the parties to enter into substantive discussions on the Sahara based on the previous rounds of talks, and taking into account the latest consultations of his Personal Envoy, Christopher Ross, and called again for a population census in the Tindouf camps, Algeria.

A group of Sahrawi protesters attacked, last Wednesday, the offices of the Polisario Front in Tindouf, claiming the resignation of the secretary Mohamed Abdelaziz, who is also president of the SADR, according to Misna (Missionary International Service News Agency).
